Co-ownership

An individual meter, existing rooftop panels or a new installation: each situation has its own options.

One roof. Two ways to share.

Solar panels first supply the uses connected to the generation meter. For the surplus, compare these two ways of organising sharing.

Share with BEES Energy

Solar roofMembers in Brussels

The surplus can be used by members elsewhere in Brussels. BEES Energy organises sharing within its community.

Worth exploring if the building uses little electricity during solar-production hours.

02

Share within the building

Solar roofBuilding meters

The surplus is allocated between participating meters in the building. The co-ownership arranges allocation, billing and administration.

Worth exploring if apartments and communal areas use electricity during the day.

Before choosing

Consumption patterns
Compare daytime electricity needs with solar generation: sharing depends on them coinciding.
Grid charges
The sharing perimeter affects grid charges. Sharing within a building and across a wider community cannot be compared on the energy price alone.
Rights and organisation
Check the export rights, especially with a third-party investor. Confirm the participating meters and their eligibility for the chosen arrangement.
